For as long as humanity has existed, we have looked to the stars to try and understand our place in the cosmos. Over the millennia, astronomers have tried to answer questions around the size and age of the universe.
Has it always existed, or did it “start” at some point in the past? If it “started” at some point, what was there before? Does it have an edge, or does it go on forever? If it has an edge, what is beyond?
Think too much about these questions and you might find yourself going into an existential crisis. Best leave it to the professionals.
