We’re in the largest boom in the application and development of AI for science in history, according to a landmark 2022 report from Australia’s science agency, CSIRO.
Lead author Dr Stefan Hajkowicz, a Principal Scientist in Strategy And Foresight at CSIRO, spoke to Cosmos about the how AI has become embedded in so many areas of science and why there’s no sign we’re heading for another so-called “AI winter” anytime soon.
