Cosmos Country podcast: Capitalising on Indigenous burning knowledge?

Already this year, wildfires have burned extensive areas of Australia’s North, Red Centre and elsewhere.

Now an El Nino climate cycle is officially upon us, a hot dry summer seems inevitable with higher risk of more bushfires.

But Australia has always burned. Often purposefully. What difference does that make? And might we capitalise on that knowledge?

Cosmos reporters Jamie Seidel and Glenn Morrison talked to innovative fire scientist Dr Rohan Fisher of Charles Darwin University’s Northern Institute to find out.
